Existance Nature
(2019)
This work depicts the process of birth from the Tibetan Buddhist perspective. From this view, it is held that existence itself originates when an individual contemplates himself and, in that act of self-observation, identifies himself as distinct and separate from the vast world around him. The path to enlightenment, according to this philosophy, lies in the recognition that one is actually one with everything.
The work combines elements of fabric with colored threads and LED light to form a visual representation of the human being in the process of gestation. The fabric, composed of colored threads, is illuminated by an external bulb that changes color continuously. This play of light and color creates a constantly transforming experience as the tones and shades of the fabric evolve over time. Color, like existence itself, does not possess fixed and immutable qualities, but is ever-changing and indeterminate.
