Lux Aeterna (2023)
Lux Aeterna is a synaesthetic exploration that fuses the projection of geometric figures on layers of semitransparent fabric, together with an original sound composition. This piece is structured as a visual symphony of three movements, each accompanied by diverse sequences of geometric shapes.
In the first movement, the work adopts a minimalist approach and industrial sounds, presenting abstractions of platonic solids and basic forms of nature. Progressively, the forms evolve into the second movement, acquiring color and abstract movement, accompanied by sounds that seek immersion in an ethereal and transpersonal space, such as Buddhist chants and low-frequency sine waves.
The third movement culminates in more abstract forms, inspired by nature, while accompanied by modular synthesizer sounds. Lux Aeterna reflects on geometric forms as fundamental elements of existence, from the microcosm to the macrocosm, suggesting their sacred and omnipresent character.
The arrangement of the canvases and the projection invite the viewer to a meditative and transcendental experience, immersing them in an immersive environment of shapes and sounds associated with spirituality. The work encourages deep introspection by exploring the foundations of life and the world, often overlooked in everyday life.
The projected light takes center stage, revealing three-dimensional figures that are not optical illusions, but an expanded perception of the path of light through space. The layers of fabric function as cross-sections of the light beams, revealing different moments in the spatial path of light. By inviting viewers to enter between the layers, the work allows them to experience different moments and places in the light path.
Beyond a rational understanding, the work seeks to offer a profound sensory experience. Like a visual symphony, Lux Aeterna invites viewers to stop, dive and let themselves be carried away on a sensory journey through form, light and sound
